camel camel camel

I got back from the Canary Islands and literally every fashion magazine has camel coats. So I guess that camel coats are going to be fall trend? Well on my vacation I saw some camels and bought a brown coat. It's perfect. I can't wait for it to cool down. This fall/winter I am grateful for dressing the part and not having to suffer through any bitter coldness.

Unemployment is educational

August has not been a very a fashionable month but there has been a lot of fútbol. I definitely did not spend two hours of my last day in Lanzarote watching some soccer match like Daniel would have liked but every single day someone has to bring up soccer and not just soccer barça. Before we left to the Canary Islands Daniel's friend Kapo came over and I took a picture of one of his tattoos that reads, "more than a club" over his heart...that's deep. He also has F.C.B (futbol club barcelona....I'm pretty sure that's what that stands for) on his arm. AND yesterday when we got back and checked the mail I learned there is even a Barça magazine. A magazine devoted to one soccer team. I know there are magazines for everything but that is impressive. I flipped through it out of curiosity and there were articles and everything...in català of course. Elana if you want I'll bring it back for you as a souvenir.

Vogue Paris

Am I crazy or did Vogue Paris used to combine their July/August issues into one so they could take their  month long paid vacation like all of the other europeans? I'm not complaining but the other day while I was in France with my man I picked up this August issue of Vogue Paris that really makes me want to stop buying the summer sale stuff and get ready for fall.

Tancat per vacances

Is posted on every other store in Barcelona. It means "closed for vacation". I fully support everyone's right to a month long vacation but it is obstructing my shopping. All of the cute shops are closed so I spend my time eating long lunches and looking off terraces.

Pictures of Pintxos

I went to a Basque bar in the heart of Barcelona. I asked for an ashtray to put out my cigarette and the woman working at the bar explained, "You can just throw it on the ground." This is something I always tease my boyfriend about and have never felt comfortable doing but I did it. I threw my cigarette butt on the ground. I still feel bad.

The part of Barcelona that Elana doesn't miss.

L.A.

A macha latte from Urth cafe (I wrote macha without the ¨t¨ on purpose). The only thing I took a picture of while in L.A. It was delicious and served without complications.
